When I her interview about how she has never travelled as "she just couldn't afford it" that signaled to me that she was never curious enough to find out about the rest of the world...remnants of George W...again and again...
Her comments on Kosovo, Russia are not only reckless, but down right dangerous...in selecting this VP candidate only highlights McCains decision making/LACK of leadership thus far...
The Tonya Harding of politics or half-baked Alaska makes a mockery of women's rights in this country...but I do give her credit for being the "Champion of Down's Syndrome" parents, perhaps that would be the area she would be best suited to lead...

Danette, i don't mean to attack you, but i think your view of Palin being peppy and enthusiastic about the future of america is just her ignorance shining through. What issues did she really tackle and have answers for? yeah it was hilarious watching her wink at the camera, and bumble around saying cute little things like giving a shout out to her 3rd graders, but the thing is she just entertaining and has never left the United States before her recent campaign. How much of not just america but the world would you know if you never set foot in a struggling country.. Obama/Biden is the Realistic choice. Oh yes and a maverick means and unbranded range animal. McCain/Palin are Republicans.........Branded.

I am from the UK.i watched this debate in the early hours of the morning via a web stream as i have been following the campaign with interest. i want to point out that i dont have any particular allegance to either the democratic or republican party. My view is that Biden was comprehensively more convincing than Palin. His answers had more substance and impotantly he answered the questions head on, unlike Palin who skimmed around the edges and also she was very repetitive.
Palin does not seem to be vice presidential material, you just cannot take her seriously. The major point at the moment is the failing US economy and i would much rather put my trust in Obama/Biden than McCain/Palin. McCain seems to be more of the same as what Bush stood for which i think in my opinion got you into the present mess in the first place.
After wathching that debate there is only one clear winner... Biden.

This whole thing just shows how out of touch so many Americans are about world affairs and the sorry state of this country. We have the corporate (only 5 of them acutally)owned media choosing who should run. When honest people like (R)Ron Paul and (D)Dennis Kucinch can't get a fair shake - it is terrible. But we get Obama vs. Bush - sorry, McCain. And here we have a person running for the second highest office in the land and she is absolutely clueless about everything. How can people think she won a debate where she didn't answer most of the questions asked of her and asked for more power for an office she doesn't have yet? America wake up and smell the coffe! It stinks!

Just to clear the air, here is verbatim what Rush Limbaugh said "I keep telling people: The most expensive commodity we have in this country is ignorance. The most expensive commodity we have is the ignorance of way too many Americans. It is ignorance that allows liberalism to prosper." And with that said people can draw their own conclusion. Not one word about taxes.

Tim,

I do listen to Rush Limbaugh and I do get my awareness from him, on the contrary I must go on to say that the only thing I quoted was "I believe ignorance is the biggest commodity” (7 words). He has said that on his show many times before and anyone who listens to him is familiar with that fraise. I cannot believe you are trying to imply that my statement was lifted from him – unbelievable .I am sure you know that facts can be easily accessed, and statements can be verified. As far the rest of my statement regarding taxes -that was not apart of their conversation that he had with the caller from PA.

Nevertheless that does not change anything that I said. For the people who check their facts, they will know that Biden told lies with such ease and control. He constantly contorted facts. Whether it was misrepresenting the Constitution or the costs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Reagan tax rates, the bailout … should I go on? Biden misrepresented facts.

Obama has failed to lead during the financial meltdown and he also has A shady background. http://www.spectator.org/dsp_article.asp?art_id=1....

Jennifer-

While I agree with your basic premise about the danger of ignorance, it is even more dangerous when it is coupled with blind faith.

Let me explain. As much as it pains me to do so, I will, on occasion, listen to Rush Limbaugh on the radio. In fact, I just listened to him today (Friday, October 3, 2008). That is why I know that three quarters of your comment was lifted almost verbatim from a remark he made today when a gentleman from Pennsylvania called in.

In terms of Governor Palin, I don't think anyone is questioning whether she cares greatly cares about the people, but we need more than care and good intentions heading-up the offices of the executive branch.

I believe ignorance is the biggest commodity in America and if anyone actually knew the facts, they would have known that 75% of what Biden was saying was lies. He stayed on the defense the whole night. The biggest lie was the taxes. 94 times Barack voted to raise taxes, Biden voted for the biggest tax increase in history, they proposed capital gains taxes increases and so on. This impacts everybody. The “95% 0f you won’t be affected” is a bunch of crap. Oh and what about Barack was warning about sub prime mortgages….hmmmm if someone can produce that, I will give you $100. America needs to do their homework. I can understand your stance on Palin as she may be a Washington newbie, but at least she’s honest. All you have to do is look at her track record. She actually cares about the people and not just a bunch of politician talk.

Palin appeared to be a trained seal. She learned a great deal in her days of crunching, but that is not enough to run the Oval Office. Biden was like a Pez despenser of knowledge. He was aware of each and every time she side-stepped the real question and never lost his cool. Surely the public would not want Ms Joe Six Pack to run our country. Give me a boring, brilliant man like Biden ANY DAY.
Also, why is that 6 year old ( I think ) always carrying that baby? Am I the only one it bothers? Why doesn't the First Dude ever carry his baby son that has poor muscle control? Their little girl could easily drop that infant.
