Cisco and the CBC Partner to Create an Environmental Website: One Million Acts of Green

Earth BallOne Million Acts of Green is a new website from the Canada Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), to promote and encourage Canadians to take steps to make the environment greener.

While not a radical approach, One Million Acts of Green is encouraging website viewers (and Canadians in general) to take the small steps, the small actions, that cumulatively add up to something significant.

What is truly great about this website, is that not only do they provide a fairly thorough example list, but they also make it easy for school groups, youth groups, and others to create groups or create challenges for others, hopefully making the process even more fun!

While it seems to be designed by and for Canadians, I would be curious to see if it is possible for non-Canadians to sign up. So, if you do sign up and are successful, let us know in the comments!

Readers may notice that One Million Acts of Green does one thing poorly, and that is equating environmental acts with climate change and greenhouse gas reductions. As detailed in an earlier Red, Green and Blue post, environmentalism is not solely defined by the issue of climate change, and it is important for observers, and participants in environmental protection and promotion to remember that.

Is Nuclear “The Best Solution On Climate Change”?

A few weeks ago Senator Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) called for a new energy solution. A solution that came in the form of 100 new nuclear power plants. That vision has not left the republicans’ eyes. And on Tuesday, Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) added his two cents.
