But that's no excuse for defacing mountain ridges with turbines. They are inefficient producers of electricity whose real but unstated purpose is to funnel federal green energy subsidies to wind project developers. Trust me. Maine has a plague of turbine developers and the aesthetic impact of turbines on our mountains is a very unfortunate development. To my knowledge, MTR is not done in NC, but it would be good to stop Peabody, et. al. before they get any ideas.
