The most powerful politician in India is a White Italian Catholic who you are correct is an upper Caste by the Catholic Christian racist caste system. Manmohan Singh is a Sikh (who supposedly don't have a "caste" system). A study of poverty in India found that ethnic groups grouped as Brahmins actually had the highest poverty rate in India!. Why is that?, Due to India's affirmative action policy (which is actually good overall), underrepresented groups get jobs and college admissions. Income disparity is measured with the GINI index. According to the CIA world factbook, India's income disparity is 36.8 as a pose to traditional Christian caste based countries like Brazil with 56.70 and Mexico (47.90) where High Caste Whites control most of the wealth. Even the U.S. (45) and so called Communist China (47) have much higher income disparities than India. This just shows you where the real caste systems are.

In fact it is the intervention of developed countries and the World Bank that prevents a famine that would kill millions. India does nothing to take care of its poor.
