Jason Mraz talks fuel in "Freedom"

What do Jason Mraz, Ed Bagley Jr., Michelle Rodriguez, Newt Gingrich, Junior Johnson, Wesley Clark, Amy Smart, and Deepak Chopra all have in common? Not much, but they’re all part of a new movie that pushes energy independence through sustainable ethanol.

Josh Tickell and Rebecca Harrell Tickell, the folks who brought us the award-winning documentary Fuel, have done it again. This time around it”s Freedom, which takes a look at how we can declare energy independence and shake off the chains of fossil fuels. The ticket, according to the Tickells: Ethanol.

They say there’s been a disinformation campaign against ethanol, mostly led by big oil. They see ethanol from biomass, garbage, and yes, even corn as the way out of our fossil fuel addiction and back to self-reliance.

“People are dying so we can have cheap energy! How can we not take action?”

The Tickells are taking a bio-fueled Freedom Bus on a three-month tour of 30+ cities to promote the film and their vision. Over the next few days there will be screenings in:

  • 8/18 – SAN FRANCISCO
  • 8/20 – PHOENIX
