NYPD Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna: The Pepper Spray Attack Videos
Here’s the clearest video, helpfully annotated by USLaw.com.
Watch closely, and you will see absolutely no evidence of any “three young men” reaching under the orange fence. There are no men at all. It’s all women, and Bologna comes out of nowhere.
This one, with a little more distance, is even clearer. No “three young men”.
The chaos: At the 39 second mark, watch the guy in the green shirt. He’s trying to video, one cop shoves him back, and immediately a group of officers jump him, grab him, and slam his head into a parked car. This was directly in front of the caged group behind the orange mesh. It’s hard to tell from this video, but what happens next is a young black lady who had been complaining about being caged (you can see that at :30) is grabbed by another officer, hauled under the mesh, thrown to the street and arrested. You don’t see the Bologna’s pepper spray shot in this video.
And here’s our (almost) clear shot of the spraying. It comes at the 1:15 mark, and it’s pretty clearly aimed at eye-level, directly at the girls, not toward any mysterious guys on the ground.
A long one, that gives you the full context. Bologna comes up at 4:30 and fires at 4:32, at which point the cameraman moves away. Pause the video at 4:47, watch guy in the grey pinstripe shirt with the shoulder back. He ducks, and you can see Bologna’s second pepper spray (in the air over the red van). You see him again more clearly in the next video. Was Bologna pursuing, not “Three guys”, but this videographer?
Bologna’s second assault.
Again, he comes out of nowhere, sprays seemingly random people, and leaves
And finally, a pair of interviews with Chelsey Elliot, one of the girls who was sprayed. “I will march again,” she says, “But I’ll where sunglasses and a fucking bandanna and a big smile.”

Why doesn’t a more senior police officer just say “you’re fired”? I would. Also, what about the mayor? Doesn’t he have any control of the police force?
