Stephen Colbert goes on Russian television to announce 2020 Presidential run!
With Stephen Colbert, the line between satire and the madness of reality is a fine one. But I’m kinda hoping he’s really considering launching a Presidential bid… because that would be fun!

What was he doing on Russian TV anyway? He went there to be interviewed by his Russian counterpart, late-night talk show host Ivan Urgant of “Evening Urgant.”
During a round of “Russian Russian Roulette” (in which some of the shot glasses contain good honest Russian Vodka while others merely contain water, and you don’t know which is which until you, as it were, pull the trigger), he exchanged toasts with Urgant.
“To the beautiful and friendly Russian people. I don’t understand why no members of the Trump administration can remember meeting you.”
To which Urgant reposted:
“To the beautiful country of the USA, which invented the Internet. Thanks to which we can influence the outcome of the US Presidential election.”
(And then he ate a pickle.)
And Colbert was there to make an announcement. You’ll have to judge for yourself whether he’s serious, or just trolling the trolls:
“I am here to announce that I am considering a run for president in 2020. And I thought it would be better to cut out the middle man and just tell the Russians myself. If anyone would like to work on my campaign, in an unofficial capacity, please just let me know.”
