  1. Professional Woman says:

I'm surprised. Palin has obliterated Biden.

  2. Sarah Palin's answers remind me of reading bad answers on essay exams for two reasons:

    1. Meandering and incoherent introductions to her answers that sound like they are just trying to take up space on the page.

    2. More than once she did not answer the question she was explicitly asked, rather, she gave the ones she wanted (was prepared) to give.

  3. It's actually a very effective debate strategy that always drove me crazy in college:

Just start talking in a sort of cutesy-snarky way until everyone has forgotten what the original question was about. If possible, be funny. Noone will remember anything about the debate anyway.

Nice work Palin, you couldn't have played your part any better if it had been scripted.

  4. Brittany says:

Palin did much better than I thought she was capable.

That being said, being a cutesy gosh-darning soccer mom doesn't make you VP material.

When considering who answered the questions most directly and substantively, there is not doubt that Biden won the debate.

  5. Levi Novey says:

I listened on the radio as I'm out of the country. Seems like a draw to me… both of the veep candidates appealed to their respective audiences. I'm a hard-core Obama voter, but I think Palin did what she needed to do to stop the bleeding from the McCain campaign (at least for tommorow and another day or two).

  6. Levi Novey says:

Also, the debate format was terrible. Blame the campaigns for playing it safe. Not as good for us, the voters. It made for a less entertaining and less informative debate.

  7. Thomas Ritzu says:

Lets be frank, Palin never answered a question and showed how completely oblivious she was to what was going on in the debate. She tried… but honestly got nowhere. I dont see how ANYONE could say that she won that debate. Joe presented the facts and she couldnt argue a word against it without bringing up her and McCain's so called "Maverick" status in Washington which lets be honest was also shut down by Biden. This debate was like putting a boxing champion in a match against an elementary school bully.

Blunt answer to the question: Biden won hands down.

  8. Palin was in good form(not answering questions) and sticking to her talking points but repeating the same old lines she has learned and used in interviews. At least she strung them together better than her Couric interview- it helps when you are allowed cheat sheets. She probably snowed people who wnat to believe in her.

Biden was what I expected, informed and precise with his facts, however he was a gentleman and didn't make strong attacks like he could have. I am always surprised when a candidate plays nice when the others are playing dirty. If you want to win a fight you have to play your game(and there's) better than they can.

Biden wins the Mr. Congeniality Award and Sarah Palin has convinced me she is a Parrot.

On a side note: John McCain and Sarah Palin call themselves "mavericks." A real Maverick wouldn't call him or herself a "maverick." In the same way a wise man wouldn't say "I am a wise man." When they talk about themselves like that it reminds me of Michael Jackson declaring himself the "King of Pop." Oh brother…God help us all.

  9. Jeremy West says:

Palin killed Biden. She called him out on the finger pointing he does after Iraq, when he supported the war. She gave a direct answer on gay marriage after Biden sidesteped the question. I thought she gave clear answers to all questions

  10. Danette says:

I think Sarah Palin won. The reasons I think she won are varied. Usually I am only interested in what candidates say…but this time, I thought Sarah Palin was more memorable in what she said. I think just the way she delivered her ideas was more memorable that Biden. She seems more fresh and happy and enthusiastic about her future and about our country. She was uplifting in a gentle sort of way.

There are lots of things that I disagree with on both teams, but I disgree less with McCain /Palin than with Obama/Biden.

I feel Sarah Palin came off as being more trustworthy also. Just my take.

  11. Laura says:

Biden won, hands down. Palin refused to follow the format and answer the questions, kept repeating the same things over and over again even if it wasn't on topic. She did not seperate McCain and herself from BUSH and perhaps more than anything else, she terrified me for her wanting even more powers of the VP being expanded. From someone whose own ethics violations investigation isn't likely to be over until after we vote, and who says the only mistake Chaney has made was his "duck hunting accident" very very scarry.

  12. marshall lomazow says:

Joe Biden won this debate. governor Palin is a nice lady. maybe a competent governor but she is out of her league

  13. Female veterinarian says:

To "professional woman": I can only assume that you are a devout republican to say that "Palin obliterated Biden"!

There is no other logical explanation for your delusion.

  14. TJ Anderton says:

I STRONGLY feel that Biden was prepared to answer whatever they threw at him and had his facts down and has clearly done his research. Palin seemed to answer the questions how the people would like to hear but not the way she should have. She wouldnt stay on topic and kept repeating and repeating. The only advise i would have on Biden is attack attack! Dont be so nice. He is strongly capable of taking this.

    In short…Biden won hands down.

  15. Nat Burnett says:

I give it to Palin – Biden got her a few times (even though one was an outright lie) but lets be honest we're voting for a president here.

I've been to a couple different polling blogs etc and see quite a few people pointing out how Palin is not ready to be VP.

Let me ask this – is someone with very little experience and NO executive experience (such as Obama) ready to lead this Country? Can someone like him who holds himself in a blatent arrogance really sit down with other world leaders and pull it off without getting pushed away as a boy who knows nothing? Can he sit down with Ahmadinejad without pre-condition and talk sense into him?

I say no, for the latter I don't think anyone could. That's the point – you don't do it because you come off as arrogant. It's dangerous and I fear if Obama becomes president we can expect pot-shot attacks because of his initial leniency towards rule breaking nations that need to be dealt with a strong hang, not passive arrogance and lecturing.

  16. Ray Fernandez says:

Sarah won the debate because she came off as being trust worthy and accountable. Biden looked like the same old sorry political hack he is and a pertfect match his running mate. Sarah also related to the average American. She has a genuine smile and she handled herself well.

  17. Patrick says:

I'm so glad that it was said, and that was said clearly- """John McCain voted against Alternate Energy 20 times."""

I've been watching his voting record over the past year+, he missed all 9 alternate energy votes this year. This site explains more:

    http://www.EnergyInOurHands.com

Joe Biden is my new found hero. He spoke the truth and did so with a honest and true passion. I agree with Clayton, Palin was a like a cute Parrot. Cute, but so far from VP, especailly next to Joe. Not only that, but she wants to milk us for oil or natural gas becuase that's all she really knows about energy, will not lead up to alternatives.

I am shocked to find anyone on this site posting that they are for her or McCain.

These sites below link to the actual .gov voting records. Please become familiar with the records if you're visiting this site and thinking of voting PalinMcCain, we don't want to hurt ourselves.

  18. Peter Mu says:

    GO SARAH!

Palin totally won this round. She is hot. I have never seen a vp this cute! She can totally do it all.

When they hugged at the end my friends were like "grab her ass!!!"

Biden was kinda tired and spoke too much.

  19. Patrick says:

Ok- I've just read a few more comments, if I may- I would like to cut the crap, and not baby Sarah anymore. We are so far away from a real qualified VP in her that we have completely lost sight of the bar.

Someone on here talked about how they like they way she smiled and was enthusianstic- right now, after 8 years of OIL MADNESS- WARS OVER IT – CLIMATE CHANGE FROM IT- THERE IS NO WAY on GODS GREEN (what's left of it) EARTH THAT WE NEED ANOTHER OIL STATE OIL LOVING VP IN CONTOL OF OUR COUNTRY! Wake up people! Wake up people! Wake up people! Look around you!!! Can't you see it?!? Can't you smell it burning!? We are being robbed and lied and led to wars over this stuff WAKE UP PEOPLE- NO SARAH FROM OIL LAND, NO McOil from OIL LOBBYIST LAND!

For the love of GOD and all things good-

WAKE UP PEOPLE – PLEEEEEASE, I AM ON MY KNEES!!!!!

Energy is blowing in the wind and falling freely from the sky – and WE ARE GOING TO WAR OVER OIL AND KILLING OURSELVES BY BURNING IT when the enegry we are after is all around us!

PLEASE- wake up, I want to be a father, but I have waited because I do not want to bring a child into this world of oil, greed over it, wars over it, whether it comes from the US or not- without alternatives VERY SOON the reast of the world will war more over it and make more nuclear energy plants becuase they have an excuse to- what excuse- US!! NO MORE!!!

Joe and Barack can lead us there- the other team doesn't truly beleive in it. I beg you all to listen, and to hear, and to think- I mean REALLY THINK!

  20. James says:

I can't believe that some of you people actually think Palin is capable to be Vice president (and potentially president) of your country? Have all you Americans lost your friggin mind??? She has not even read a newspaper before, only just got her passport last year and thinks God put dinosaurs and people on the earth together a few thousand years ago – I MEAN COME ON!!!!!! Is everyone blind – she is making your whole country look so stupid!

Her IQ could not possibly be over 100 and she has absoultely NO KNOWLEDGE about the economy or foreign policy. For all you women who think she is the average woman – are you all pro oil, pro guns, pro war and against abortion even in instances of rape and incest? Do you teach your young daughters how to kill animals while letting your other daughters take drugs, sleep around and get pregnant – great family values isn't it.

I have never seen such a DUMB AIRHEAD before and enough with all this folksy 'Hockey mom' 'Your Darn Right' crap, THIS IS THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION – probably the most important election ever and she is turning the whole thing into some beauty pageant joke. Imagine her sitting down with Putin and Ahmadinejad…… are you kidding??

She is a TOTAL EMBARASSMENT to all women, candidates and the whole american popluation. The WHOLE WORLD is LAUGHING at all of you. She may be 'cute' and a qualified 'Hockey mom' but a potential president – HONESTLY….PRESIDENT?

The sad part about it is that the whole world actually gets affected by this and if anyone of you are actually considering supporting Palin (I bet you are the same people who voted for Bush) then you should be ashamed of yourself.

    WAKE UP PEOPLE!!

  21. Cody says:

Palin could have said Maverick a few more times. She seemed like all she was doing was babbling around in circles, and she seemed like she was stalling to meet the time limits for each question. Biden had so many facts to back up everything he was saying that he had to be cutt off a few times. Palin never stated any facts. All she did was give a "trust me" answer to most questions, and a number of times she ignored the questions entirely. What are your weak points??? Palin also seemed very coached and had no torts to respond to Biden. Biden had direct answers for each question and he had facts and plans to back up each answer. In addition, he rebuted many statements Palin made and he nailed McCain on so many instances with facts about how he voted the same way as Obama. Palin hopes to win people over with her charm, and I think America is smarter than that. We don't need another funny, winking, trust-me kind of president or vice president. We want responsibility and accountability in our leadership. We want people in these high up positions to win their positions on merit and qualifications, not likeability or charm. I agree with an early post that this debate was like a pro versus an amatuer. I thought it was like a graduate student taking on a high schooler. You can't just say something is good or bad. You have to back up anything you say with facts, not more opinions and a smirky grin. I found myself cringing every time Palin opened her mouth. Biden won, hands down. He even took the high road by not attacking Palin. He let her dig her own grave.

  22. Dy says:

That was just horrible. They asked a question regarding the power of the executive and legislative branches, and she just went off on some topic like that question didn't even exist. As far as speech tactics go, she did decent. But giving a good speech is not just about avoiding awkward pauses and being articulate, you have to stick to the topics you are given. Otherwise, it just sounds ridiculous- sort of like saying the wrong character's lines in a play.

I personally thought Biden killed her, and was surprised to learn that people thought it was the other way around. Either you just completely missed how she went off topic and made irrelevant points, or you are a McCain/Palin supporter and want to believe that all of what she said made perfect sense. It's shocking how stupid people are to think that she had actually won that debate. Well, I guess sticking to the point isn't really what politics are all about. In that case, she should run for president.

  23. Tyler Stonack says:

It's sad to say but the only thing Sarah had going for her was the decent school girl look. Joe stated the facts and presented in such a manner that every American could understand, Sarah on the other hand danced around the questions; and finally coming to ground she could only engage to her viewers with sports. What?? Recap: Your final conclusion and you refer it to “sports." Well, I guess as VP we don’t have to worry about our children’s sport programs being cut. That does not interest me nor is that an issue right now. The issues now are about the American People. We are in a huge crisis; with banks going under left and right, cooperate greed due to corruption of “fat cats”, and don’t forget about our multi trillion dollar deficit from the classified “War in Iraq” so we call it, initially congress never pass it as a war that’s why it was always referred as “The Conflict in Iraq”. There is an old saying “Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me!” And my friends I am hoping we don’t eat those words.

We have a joker running the country now DO WE WANT ANOTHER ONE?

    WE will see in November!

  24. Joe says:

@Danette – please report to the long end of the short pier. That is all.

  25. Wonder Joust says:

Republicans, let it go. That was a disaster for anyone paying attention to the words she said instead of how her hair looked. She sounded exactly as John Stewart commented she has, like a student who crammed the night before her oral exam.

If you watch carefully, there were several moments of "what-was-that-phrase" drawouts. When talking about nuclear proliferation (the question actually was "what is your Achilles-heel?" not that she noticed) there was a noticeable "Nailed it!" after a close call forgetting "government sanctions". She bobbed her head like a cheerleader delivering her prepared prom queen speech.

And the fluff. Oh the fluff. She talked around her experience with "energy resources" in Alaska with abandon. Repeatedly. And with surprisingly little depth. Oh, right, because its a crock.

And what in the hell was "I haven't made any promises I can't keep, I'm not going to start now"? You're not going to say anything except you like drilling and shooting moose? That's it?

That's what you, as a Republican, are supporting? Someone who just doesn't have a plan or ideas or know the FIRST damn thing about ONE damn thing?

I submit that this is the biggest joke in American political history. McCain is going to unveil a hidden camera crew that has been following Barrack around, recording his reactions to distract from the secret coronation of Cheney as ruler for life.

Honestly, I know we're used to a political conversation amongst and desperately including the mediocre and hardly-bright, but you would be hard pressed to find an answer from Palin that wasn't a long string of buzz-words peppered with whatever is passing for 'Alaskan charm' these days; take your fingers out of your ears and stop humming.

I know she's pretty. I know. But this is not a swimsuit competition and I'm not sure Governor Palin realizes that.

  26. Buenas says:

Palin nailed Biden. How come the media is not mentioning the many times Biden started a sentence and then in mid sentence said something totally different? Or how about how he just had one answer for every single question? Or how about the fact that he denied changing his views since he has been running for VP? Okay and get this: he said what he can offer America is consistency…so then why talk about change? Balin has not changed in what… 35 years… yeah, what is new Balin? Definately NOT you!!! It was like a debate of a big wealthy Washington man against a regular civilian. I LOVED IT!!! Palin – way to go and bring it home. I can not wait to have you as a VP in November.

  27. Kyle says:

This is for the Vice-President of the United States of America! Has that sunk in yet? NO,the average Joe is NOT qualified and has NO business in that position. Her ability to dodge questions in a cute way may be memorable for those who think she's hot, but it does nothing for her ability to DO THE JOB!!! This woman is the biggest joke/disgrace/insult to America that I have ever witnessed (yes, worse than Bush). Anyone who truly thinks she is qualified for this is the epitome of what's wrong with our country; anti-intellectuallim.

  28. Todderick says:

Anyone who states that Sarah Palin even came close in this debate is entirely in denial… and im not talking about the river in Egypt. I felt like I was listening to a parrot recite the words of an idiot. She answered every question with the same responce. For example Q:What will your health plan consist of? A: We need to stop the greed on Wall street; John Mccain and I are Mavericks. Q: Due to the financial crisis, which of your proposed programs would you take off the table? We need to stop the greed on Wall street; John Mccain and I are Mavericks. Americans are not stupid. If Sarah Palin is qualified to be VP, I am qualified to be VP. I know just as much about the constitution as she does… actually, I might even know more!

  29. Jon H says:

"Nice work Palin, you couldn’t have played your part any better if it had been scripted." -Clayton

    It was.

  30. scott wooten says:

To the people that are 'woke up", I have a question. How in the world can one expect to trust Obama with the facts of his record of being associated with Anti-American preachers and making huge money deals with terrorists?? Obame and biden talk about change.. How much more change can one get than a down to earth VP that has Governed a state and was responsible as she was with the big oil company…..talk about responsibility….Obama's biggest mark was voting for late term abortion so dark that even his own poeple"Dem" were against his decission!! Now on McCain, You know, the guy thats running for President.. Dont just checkout ONE site on voting statistics…I'v read ALOT,watched ALOT Of fxnews, msnbc, things of that nature and yes….McCain IS a maverick!! Sending some folks to prision because of what HE voted on against corporate corruption!! In the economy right now?? Thats FREAKIN AWSOME!!!!

  31. Joey says:

Biden won for sure. Palin was just avoiding the questions and probably repeating everything she was told to say. She didn't even address Healthcare and went to Tax's. She was sidestepping the topic alright.

Biden was clear and logical and made more sense. But I loved Palin last night, She comes from a small town and talked to us like a person would. For that, She has my respect.

But sorry, Biden clearly won the debate.

  32. Joseph Kingsley says:

Clayton Cornell… I like how you say, "Palin couldn't have done better if it was scripted" like Biden didn't have a script right in front of him. That's a really weak point, but keep trying.

Biden looked good, but Palin smoked him. And she answered every question very clearly.

What would Democrats be saying to Palin if less than a year ago she said, "I would be honored to run with Barack Obama and John McCain is not cut out to be the President."?

That's what I htought. The media would be killing her more than they already are.

  33. These VP candidates both being a heartbeat away from the Presidency showed respect for one another, but Biden's answers showed the nation/world his depth of knowledge, experience, skill in defining the glaring differences btwn the Obama & McCain.

Palin came off a combination of Bush-Cheney in her policy differences…so if you all want MORE OF THE SAME-just pick McCain/Palin…nothing in that debate showed that they would do anything different.

Palin's Joe-Six-Pack, soccer mom populist voice just didn't resonate with this mother, who would never drag her little 6 mo old baby onto the stage, let alone her 17 yro pregnant teen daughter at a time in her life where her privacy should be respected, not glorified. Finally, her inappropriate response after Biden spoke about his tragedy was very evident.

  34. Flixor says:

I think without a doubt Joe Biden won this debate because he clearly answered all of the questions while Sarah Palin simply stated what she already knows and was prepped in. I think she seems more of a "cheerleader" for McCain than a candidate. When asked what she would do for the country if "the worst were to happen," she simply spoke more of McCain's plan and that she would follow them out. How is it that Palin can do this even though when asked 2 weeks prior to this, she gave an answer that was nearly identical to Obama's plan? Not only that but all of Palin's answers were extremely "generic" and general, along with redundant. Along with this, Palin continued to speak of the tax increases that would "hurt" the lower/middle class of America. She clearly doesn't know what she is talking about. The tax increase would increase taxes for the upper class citizens of the United States and lower tax rates for the lower/middle class families. How can she say she is against this when she wants to help the lower/middle classes? Joe Biden is clearly more educated after his 8 years in the US senate than anyone could possibly be in the 2 years that Sarah Palin continues to brag about. I think that Sarah Palin is extremely good at dodging questions and seeming to be the "good guy" even though she comes across as an innocent school girl that knows nothing.

Long story short, Biden crushed Palin

  35. Kama Maharaj says:

Biden won hands down. Palin came across as if she was well prepped with stock answers. Clearly, the instructions were that if she got into a tangle, skirt the issue and speak about Alaska and energy.

Let's be realistic. If the next President were to step down for whatever reason, who would we like to see as President, Biden or Palin? In there perilious times, who would you trust your future and the future of your children and grand children with – a sober, seasoned statesman or a maverick/hockey mom?

  36. Ron v. says:

I don't think neither candidate won, which should please McCain. Perhaps my expectation for Palin was so low that she didn't have to do much to impress me. Sad thing is, I would vote for McCain if it wasn't for Palin. Here's one of several reasons: McCain is in his 70's and let's face it, more likely to die in office then Obama. If McCain dies, Palin becomes President ~ that is scarry. For example, I cannot see Palin go deep and hard into foreign politics: she didn't have a passport until 14 months ago. She'd make a great first lady with her perky personallity, but not a VP and certainly no President. Sorry, Palin ;-(

  37. david campbell says:

Palin didn't stand a chance to Biden. She sidestepped questions and never gave a clear concise answer the entire time that she was on television. We need a VP that actually knows how to tackle te big issues and not sidestep them.

  38. jeff says:

I'd call it a draw, as Palin did "pretty darn well" against a much more seasoned political combatant. Given Biden's tenure and stature, he should've been able to mop the floor up with Palin and he didn't. I just wish Obama and Biden would spend more time running against McCain than against Bush (who isn't running, guys!) and I wish McCain and Palin would declare a moratorium on the word "maverick".

  39. Teresa Ambord says:

Biden was very charming, but after watching the whole debate, I think Biden himself will go to the polls and vote for McCain/Palin. I would never… ever vote for anyone based solely on gender or race. And unlike so many… ahem… who will remain unnamed, I would never vote based on what is "hip" today. I also will not stoop to the level of picking on the way Palin or Biden deliver a message… it is the message that is important, not the delivery. I hope that voters will be adult enough to keep that in mind and not vote on the same basis they post comments on the Internet. Yeah, yeah… I know… all you liberal posters are going to shred me the way you've all tried to shred Palin. My advice to you is, grow up and vote for what is right, not what is cool today.

  40. Mercy Martinez says:

"Professional woman" has it right. Palin showed she is made of good stuff. I will never understand women who turn on their own offspring and kill them because they are inconvenient… liberals call it choice, but it is murder.

  41. Bill says:

Who won the "debate" depends on what standards are used to decide. Are we talking about who articulated their positions better? Are we talking about who swayed more individuals to his/her side than the other?

With just those 2 standards, I score it:

    1. Biden over Palin, slightly

    2. Tie

Both candidates exaggerated/told outright falsehoods. It doesn't matter who told more, because there really is no way to determine that objectively.

Palin did a much better job than Biden as a politician, which is why I scored higher for Biden for no 1.

And, then there is the "bias" factor. Most individuals who scored this "debate" undoubtedly scored it based on their own political biases.

But, in the end, who won the debate doesn't matter as much as who is better to lead this country should the presidential candidate they serve as VP under die.

Neither, I'd favor of Biden based on his experience. It is really sad that in 2008 we are virtually scraping the bottom of the barrel for presidential and vice presidential candidates. Now, I am not saying any of them are bad people. I'd gamble with McCain. I'd have a drink with Joe. I'd run with Obama. And I'd date Palin if she were single.

But to let any of them be in charge of our country–no way.

  42. AJ Drew says:

Can you say "style over substance?" That seems to be the mantra of liberals for the last twenty years. Somebody who is a good speaker but a bad person (BJ Clinton for example) is better than a good person who stumbles in speech. I say it's the Hollywood influence. Liberals make fun of Palin's faith, as though bringing God into your choices is foolish or weak, yet they are swayed, maybe even guided by people like Oprah Winfrey. Remember libs… Hitler was a great speaker too, but even liberals would not call him a decent person. And no… I'm not comparing Clinton or Obama or Biden to Hitler, but the analogy is a good one. Inexperience, ala Obama, is deadly. Suave is not enough.

  43. re: AJ Drew

So what I am hearing is that Oprah Winfrey is un-Godly and kinda like Hitler? Is that what you are saying? Cuz that is a message I can get behind!

  44. Stiwitat says:

Wow. Thomas, Brittney, Gary-Paul..you guys are obviously informed and intelligent in your observations. Hopefully, the others are just not educated in the truth of the matter and make their judgments on the very emotions that the Palin camp (ie. Rove/ Bushcamp) orchestrated for her. She is woefully inept in this position but like GW Bush, relies on her folksey charm (we call it BUSHit in Texas) and guess what Danette et al bought it hook line and sinker. Hopefully, before voting time, they will educate themselves. i mean, come On, The Maverick has been a sheep for Eight years!!! She left her hometown 20+ million$ debt after only 6 years!!!. Figure it out!!

A good place to start: Youtube's McCain VS McCain is enlightening. McCain is a fun guy, but weak and shallow…Palin is shallow, too, but cut throat in her successes. If they win, America deserves what they will get. Dear God, Please Help us All…..

  45. katherine Bownds says:

Palin appeared to be a trained seal. She learned a great deal in her days of crunching, but that is not enough to run the Oval Office. Biden was like a Pez despenser of knowledge. He was aware of each and every time she side-stepped the real question and never lost his cool. Surely the public would not want Ms Joe Six Pack to run our country. Give me a boring, brilliant man like Biden ANY DAY.
Also, why is that 6 year old ( I think ) always carrying that baby? Am I the only one it bothers? Why doesn’t the First Dude ever carry his baby son that has poor muscle control? Their little girl could easily drop that infant.

  46. Jennifer says:

I believe ignorance is the biggest commodity in America and if anyone actually knew the facts, they would have known that 75% of what Biden was saying was lies. He stayed on the defense the whole night. The biggest lie was the taxes. 94 times Barack voted to raise taxes, Biden voted for the biggest tax increase in history, they proposed capital gains taxes increases and so on. This impacts everybody. The “95% 0f you won’t be affected” is a bunch of crap. Oh and what about Barack was warning about sub prime mortgages….hmmmm if someone can produce that, I will give you $100. America needs to do their homework. I can understand your stance on Palin as she may be a Washington newbie, but at least she’s honest. All you have to do is look at her track record. She actually cares about the people and not just a bunch of politician talk.

  47. Jennifer-

While I agree with your basic premise about the danger of ignorance, it is even more dangerous when it is coupled with blind faith.

Let me explain. As much as it pains me to do so, I will, on occasion, listen to Rush Limbaugh on the radio. In fact, I just listened to him today (Friday, October 3, 2008). That is why I know that three quarters of your comment was lifted almost verbatim from a remark he made today when a gentleman from Pennsylvania called in.

In terms of Governor Palin, I don't think anyone is questioning whether she cares greatly cares about the people, but we need more than care and good intentions heading-up the offices of the executive branch.

    Tim,

I do listen to Rush Limbaugh and I do get my awareness from him, on the contrary I must go on to say that the only thing I quoted was "I believe ignorance is the biggest commodity” (7 words). He has said that on his show many times before and anyone who listens to him is familiar with that fraise. I cannot believe you are trying to imply that my statement was lifted from him – unbelievable .I am sure you know that facts can be easily accessed, and statements can be verified. As far the rest of my statement regarding taxes -that was not apart of their conversation that he had with the caller from PA.

Nevertheless that does not change anything that I said. For the people who check their facts, they will know that Biden told lies with such ease and control. He constantly contorted facts. Whether it was misrepresenting the Constitution or the costs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Reagan tax rates, the bailout … should I go on? Biden misrepresented facts.

Obama has failed to lead during the financial meltdown and he also has A shady background. http://www.spectator.org/dsp_article.asp?art_id=1….

Just to clear the air, here is verbatim what Rush Limbaugh said "I keep telling people: The most expensive commodity we have in this country is ignorance. The most expensive commodity we have is the ignorance of way too many Americans. It is ignorance that allows liberalism to prosper." And with that said people can draw their own conclusion. Not one word about taxes.

This whole thing just shows how out of touch so many Americans are about world affairs and the sorry state of this country. We have the corporate (only 5 of them acutally)owned media choosing who should run. When honest people like (R)Ron Paul and (D)Dennis Kucinch can't get a fair shake – it is terrible. But we get Obama vs. Bush – sorry, McCain. And here we have a person running for the second highest office in the land and she is absolutely clueless about everything. How can people think she won a debate where she didn't answer most of the questions asked of her and asked for more power for an office she doesn't have yet? America wake up and smell the coffe! It stinks!
